Spine

A brief description of the spine.
The spine is made up of a series of vertebrae. These vertebrae are split into categories. The categories are cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral. .
There are two types of spinal cord injury. One is a complete injury and the other is an incomplete injury.

Any two people who have suffered a complete injury to the spinal cord at the same point will have the same amount of movement as each other. This does not apply to people who have suffered an incomplete injury. Each incomplete injury is very different to the next one.
With low back pain the severity of the pain is often unrelated to the extent of physical damage. For example, muscle spasm from a simple back strain can cause excruciating lower back pain that can make it difficult to walk or even stand, whereas a large herniated disc or completely degenerated disc can actually be completely painless
Cardiovascular exercise can play a critical role in maintaining spine health and ensuring progress in recovery from back pain or surgery. Home exercise equipment, such as treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes can allow easy access to one’s exercise program and are relatively low impact on the spine.Cardiovascular exercise can play a critical role in maintaining spine health and ensuring progress in recovery from back pain or surgery.
